what WE Offer

As a Recovery Community Center (RCC), the HOPE Center serves as local resource for community-based recovery support. People do not live here, but rather our resources can help individuals build recovery capital at the community level by providing

  • Advocacy Training: Equipping individuals with the tools to stand up for themselves and others.

  • Recovery Information & Resources: Connecting participants with services related to housing, transportation, healthcare, employment, education, social services, and legal assistance.

  • Peer-Support Organization Meetings: Creating spaces to connect with others in recovery.

  • Social Activities: Fostering a sense of belonging and community.

  • Resource Mobilization: Assisting individuals in accessing essential services and building resilience.

  • Onsite Services: Salon, Blue Room, Business Office, Day Room, Craft Projects, Health Room, Music, Lockers, Computer Lab, Laundry, Showers, and Mail.

How They Can Help

A peer support specialist is someone with the lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or both. Our peer specialists are certified by the state of North Carolina. Your peer specialist may fill some or all of these roles when working with you:

  • A role model for recovery and wellness

  • A connector who puts you in touch with other people in recovery to build your support network

  • A resource navigator who can link you to available services in the following areas:

    • Housing

    • Transportation

    • Health care

    • Employment

    • Education

    • Social services

    • Legal assistance

  • A coach who practices new behaviors and ways of thinking with you

  • A sounding board that gives you honest feedback

  • An advocate who stands up for you and shows you how to stand up for yourself

  • A cheerleader who celebrates your recovery accomplishments with you
